The Great Escape was a stoner rock band based out of Aschaffenburg, Germany. They would be founded in 1999 and would release three albums, though little was known of the band. The band did notably support Los Natas on a few dates of their Europa Europa tour in 2003. By 2005 Seppi, Matthias and Steffen would form My Sleeping Karma, an instrumental psych band.
On 13 June 2023 it would be announced by the band that drummer Steffen Weigand had passed away.[1][2]
