Stampede (2011) |
Stampede is the debut album by Lexington doom metal band Stampede. It was self-released in August 2011 with a tour to follow the next year. To date it's their only studio release and the only one to feature the original lineup.
Background[]
Throughout 2010 and early 2011, Stampede had performed live throughout the Lexington area, composing new songs along the way. On April 19 & 20, 2011 the band recorded the five tracks that would compose the album.[1] Mixing for the record would be finished by June.
The album was self-released by the band, officially arriving in their hands by late July and August.[2] A release party for the album would happen on October 22, 2011 at The Green Lantern with Onward Pilgrim and Sonic Altar as support.[3] A tour would follow in July of 2012 in support of the album.
