Powered Wig Machine are a stoner rock band originating from Tucson, Arizona. Active since 2007, this quintet performs stoner rock inspired by the wild west, sci-fi lore, wrestling and other over the top themes. The band themselves describe themselves as "Heavy Western Rock n' Roll". The band's name stems from a track by The Desert Sessions.

History[]

Powered Wig Machine formed some time in 2007 though little is known of the earliest years of the band. Though it is known the band self-released an EP entitled Bearded Goddess and largely performed in the local Tucson area with local and touring acts. In the early years of the band, Powered Wig Machine toured once in 2013 and shared the stage with the likes of Ape Machine, Gypsy Hawk, Mothership and Living Colour among others.

Following an appearance at Borderland Fuzz Festival[1] in January 2015, Powered Wig Machine would release Supa-Collider that March to generally positive reviews.[2][3][4] The band remains sporadically active in the Tucson local scene, often supporting various touring acts such as Mos Generator and Ecstatic Vision.
