Il (Ил; Russian for "sludge") is a Russian band from Moscow formed in 2013. They are best known for a musical style that combines elements of sludge metal, doom metal and noise rock. Their eponymous debut album, however, incorporated elements of drone and noise music.
The band have released 4 studio albums, one live album, 2 splits and one EP. Their fourth studio album Nechist was released on September 1, 2017.
