DoctoR DooM are a four-piece stoner rock band from Ariège, France. They were formed in 2011. Along with being heavily inspired by sixties and seventies rock the band has drawn heavy inspiration from the imagery of Coven.[1]

History[]

DoctoR DooM would form in 2011 by Pasquet and Delattre, both of whom previously in metal bands and both with a mutual love for sixties and seventies rock. Blomfield and Marcq would join soon after and the band composed sets mixing covers and originals, performing their first shows in 2012.

On 25 May 2013 the band's first physical release would come in DoomO, a three-song EP. DoomO would see positive reception from the likes of The Sleeping Shaman,[2] Heavy Planet[3] and The Obelisk among others.[4] The band would perform at Festival Les RenkArts[5] among other gigs through 2013 and 2014, including appearances at DesertFest Berlin[6] and Riff Ritual Fest[7] for their first shows outside of France.

DoctoR DooM would begin recording a host of songs at Gradus ad Parnassum, working with engineer S. Boutin Blomfield and mastering by American musician Tony Reed (Mos Generator). The band would release a single for So Jinxed on 9 May 2015, followed by their debut album This Seed We Have Sown on 24 July 2015 via Ripple Music.[8] This Seed We Have Sown attained positive reception from the likes of The Sludgelord,[9] Ghostcult Magazine,[10] The Sleeping Shaman,[11] Maximum Volume Music[12] and Metal Kaoz[13] among others.

DoctoR DooM would tour Spain, Germany and Belgium in support of This Seed We Have Sown through 2016 among other shows. DoctoR DooM remain active supporting touring bands in the French heavy rock scene.
