A New Ice Age is an EP by English doom band Cathedral, initially released on 45RPM vinyl on 2 December 2011 at the band's farewell performance. Further copies were released via Rise Above Records.

BackgroundEdit

Leading up to the band's "farewell concert" the band would release a special EP containing two original songs in support of the concert and as a means to hold fans over until the band's tenth and final album would be released two years later. Notably, Open Mind Surgery was originally intended for The Guessing Game as it had been performed in 2009, notably at Roadburn Festival.
